Getting to Annapolis
Annapolis is a relatively small city without its own airport or train station to get downtown. Once you are in Annapolis, everything you need and more will be within walking distance.
from Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)
Flying in to BWI or taking the Amtrak Northeast Regional or Acela train to the Baltimore - BWI Station will get you very close. From BWI, the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Annapolis is about a 30 minute drive. There are no regular shuttles from BWI to Annapolis so ridesharing (Uber) will be your best bet.
from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
If BWI isn't convenient from your home airport, consider DCA a second-best airport to fly into. DCA is about an hour drive to get to downtown Annapolis. We would recommend ridesharing or maybe hitching a ride from one of our Washington DC chapter members who will be driving in.
Driving to Annapolis
The Hilton Garden Inn has on-site covered parking at a $35/day rate with in/out privileges for anyone planning to drive to Annapolis. Use your preferred maps app for directions; the Baltimore chapter is not responsible if you get lost along the way.
Get to Know Annapolis
Nestled along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis blends rich history with a laid-back coastal vibe. As Maryland’s capital and home to the prestigious United States Naval Academy, the city is steeped in maritime tradition. Stroll the charming streets of Historic Downtown Annapolis, where 18th-century architecture meets vibrant shops, waterfront dining, and lively pubs. From sailing excursions on the bay to exploring landmarks like the Maryland State House, the oldest state capitol still in continuous use, Annapolis offers a perfect mix of culture, history, and coastal charm for a memorable visit. If you would like to stop by early or stay late, we have procured a few local recommendations for things to see while staying in Annapolis.
